Born in the Chicago area, Marissa Bridge came to New York City in 1974. She attended Parsons School of Design, participated in the Parsons in Paris program, and graduated in 1978 with a BFA degree in painting. She began showing her paintings professionally two years later, and has since exhibited her work internationally in galleries and museums.

Marissa Bridge Studios was founded in 1989 as the vehicle for Ms. Bridge to expand her work into the areas of design and the decorative arts. As illustrated by the fine art and decorative works assembled here, the two realms of Ms. Bridge's work have flourished side-by-side, the themes and techniques of her fine art work influencing her design and decorative work and vice versa. She brings the same aesthetic qualities to every project: attention to detail, subtlety of color, and fine craftsmanship are the hallmarks of her style.

An important part of the Studio's success depends upon the energy and talents of younger artists who collaborate on most of the studio's projects. The artists, hand-picked by Ms. Bridge, must have fine arts degrees, and upon learning the techniques developed by Ms. Bridge over her career, they enable the Studio to maintain the highest standards of excellence.

In January, 2006, Ms. Bridge is excited to be opening a branch of MB Studios in East Quogue, NY. This will enable her to better serve the design community in the Hamptons, where she has worked for many years.
